Ruediger Suess works since summer 2017 in the new installed Think Tank of DLR –the German Aerospace Center. The task of the think tank is to address long-term, strategic, complex, and interdisciplinary/cross sectional questions based on data driven analysis. Ruediger’s role is to look at these challenges and results from the analysis from a strategy and innovation management point of view, regarding opportunities but also strategic risks. Before that he was a project (portfolio) manager at the Strategy and International Relations department at DLR in various functions and tasks concerning the corporate strategy, long term positioning, business development and inhouse consulting.
Ruediger started his career in consulting – Accenture (Financial Services) and CSC (B2B Aerospace & Automotive). He holds a diploma in aerospace engineering (Stuttgart University) and a Master’s degree in Strategic Management (HEC Paris). He was one of the delegates for the ISO 21504 Guidance for Project Portfolio Management and is a re-certified PMI-PMP. Ruediger co-chairs the Strategic Risk Management Committee as well as being a member of the international project management committees at the International Astronautical Federation, and is a long-term project sponsor for the “Information & Knowledge Strategy” Master’s program at Columbia University, New York.
On a private base Ruediger is involved in the new space/fintech scene with own ideas but also with strategic and financial support. He is interested in finding sustainable business models, strategic positioning, stakeholder communication, and idea leadership- from idea to implementation.
